Return to Reuse Professionals Day

Second Hand Tampere ry, in conjunction with the Reuse Network RENET ry, organised the Professional Days of Reuse on 14-15 April 2026. A collection of circular economy professionals and experts gathered at the event.

A strong message from the informative event was that a lot is happening nationally within the sector, even though many actors are grappling with the same issues, such as financial matters or a shortage of resources. There is a willingness to solve problems, and the positive message is that the circular economy phenomenon is growing and developing at a tremendous pace.

In many places, the role of collaboration was deemed significant, and many new important networks were indeed created during the event! The perspective from the City of Tampere was that “change must be made simultaneously on many lanes.” A desire arose from industry stakeholders to raise a common voice – how can we, as experts in our field, be heard more effectively, influencing both attitudes and decision-making 📣

The event featured speeches related to the producer responsibility act and a unique recycling shopping centre opening in Kuopio in August. Excellent speeches were also heard, with examples from abroad relating to the circular economy, support schemes, and the mainstreaming of second-hand goods.

Following the professional days, we hope to continue the discussion amongst SHT members as well. at our spring meeting on 14.5.2026 at Tampere's Nelalaby.
