Greetings from the Tampere Sustainable Living results event on February 6th!<\/p>\n
At the decision-making event, the four Future Arena theme groups, including Second Hand Tampere, presented development concepts and visions born at the arena. Politicians from five parties, Tampere Deputy Mayor Jouni Markkanen (National Coalition), Ilkka Porttikivi (Social Democrats), Mirja Salmij\u00e4rvi (Green League), Jouni Siren (Left Alliance), and Marika Puolimatka (Finns Party), commented on what they heard in a panel discussion. From the association's perspective, we found the transition arena to be an excellent avenue to be heard as a new association from the grassroots level, and at the same time, to direct our activities and networks both with others who participated in the Sustainable Life Future Arena and towards the city's various authorities. The workshops carried out at the arena clarified and strengthened our association's vision, and also provided a lot of inspiration for the future.<\/p>\n
The Future Arena was a process guided by the \"We make transition!\" project, where through collaborative work, the desired future was identified and considered in terms of how to proceed in that direction.<\/p>\n

Circular economy businesses, for example second-hand and repair services, are an active sector in Tampere with many operators involved. Bringing this sector further into the spotlight through wider cooperation and city support would be a good step towards a reputation as the second-hand capital.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
